The United States Treasury Department in a statement on Wednesday (14/2/2024) evening announced that these sanctions target three individuals and four entities associated with the transfer of advanced United States technology used by the Central Bank of Iran. The US Treasury Department added that Informatics Services Company (ISC) in Iran affiliated with the Central Bank of Iran, ABS Company in the UAE, LLC Company in the UAE, and Ted Company in Turkey are sanctioned entities. The United States Treasury Department named Sayed Abutaleb Najafi, CEO of Information Services Company, Pouria Mirdamadi, one of the company's employees, and Mohammad Reza Khademi, Director of LLC among the list of people subject to new sanctions. The administration of US President currently led by Joe Biden has claimed to be carrying the slogan of diplomacy and reducing tensions, but in fact continues to adopt a policy of maximum pressure against Tehran. Biden's move continues the policy of the Republican Donald Trump administration and imposed anti-Iran sanctions under various pretexts, including human rights and the war in Ukraine and Israel.
