USA, McCarthy rejects Zelensky's invitation to visit Ukraine: "no blank check"
WASHINGTON - Speaker of the House of Representatives Kevin McCarthy has rejected the invitation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. “Zelensky asked me to go to Ukraine to get a closer look at the situation and see what is happening in this country,” he said. "But I'm not going to visit Ukraine," he continued. "It is not necessary to go to Kiev or Ukraine to understand whether or not there is a blank check: I will continue to be constantly updated on the situation". McCarthy reiterated his support for Ukraine but not "a blank check". "I think McCarthy has never visited Kiev or Ukraine. I think McCarthy's visit to Ukraine will help his position," Zelensky said.
