Von der Leyen: Israel cannot stay in Gaza for long, it is part of future Palestinian state
EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said that the Israeli army cannot stay in the Gaza Strip for a long time because these lands are part of the future State of Palestine. Stating that Israeli security forces cannot be present in Gaza for a long time, Leyen said, "Gaza is part of the future Palestinian state. Palestinians cannot be forcibly removed from the Gaza Strip. This will lead to greater regional instability. Gaza should not be kept under constant blockade." On the other hand, European Union (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell said that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is turning into a war of civilizations and that everything necessary must be done to prevent this. Stating that although the Israeli-Palestinian issue is getting worse every year on the ground, everyone, including Western countries, ignores it, Borrell emphasized that it was believed that the agreements made between Arab countries and Israel in recent years would bring peace and stability to the region, but this did not happen./
