Poland announced that it would definitely retaliate against the decision of the Russian government to close the country's diplomatic mission in Smolensk, which opened in honor of the memory of Polish officers who died at the hands of Soviet troops, and the 2010 plane crash that killed the then President of Poland

The head of the Polish government, Mateusz Morawiecki, said that the authorities of his country "are in constant contact with diplomats working in Russia and helping the Poles living there."The Polish authorities will give a symmetrical response to the closure of Polish diplomatic missions by Russia. This was announced on Friday at a press conference by Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki."If it finally comes to the point that Russia begins to liquidate our diplomatic platforms, then we, for our part, will respond symmetrically," he said.As Morawiecki stressed, the Polish authorities "are in constant contact with diplomats working in Russia and helping the Poles living there."

Earlier on Friday, it became known that Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed an order to close the consular agency of Poland in Smolensk. As explained in the government, the decision to close the agency was taken as a response to the unfriendly anti-Russian actions of the Polish government. In particular, we are talking about the illegal seizure of Russian diplomatic property on Polish territory and a significant reduction in Russia's diplomatic presence in Poland. "The order of the government of the Russian Federation, approved as a response measure, makes it possible to restore the parity of the consular offices of Russia in Poland and Poland in Russia," the cabinet added.
