28 people killed, 46 injured in new clashes in western Sudan
At least 28 civilians have been killed and 46 others injured in an attack carried out by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in El Fasher, the capital of Darfur State in North West Sudan.
In his statement yesterday, Al-Hafiz Bakheet, acting governor of North Darfur state, said: "RSF militants have committed new murders after repeatedly attacking markets and civilian areas, and raiding people's homes and stealing everything.
According to the governor, the forces of the Sudanese Army (SAF) in collaboration with a group of armed activists of the Darfur region have succeeded in suppressing the attacks of the RSF and causing them heavy losses.
He has also said: "El Fasher will continue to fight manfully and unwaveringly and soon he will clean up all the rebels."
The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) have not made any statements regarding the information on the attack.
Since the 10th of May this year, the fierce fight for power between the military generals has been going on between the generals who lead the SAF group and those who lead the RSF group and the main victims of the power-hungry war are ordinary citizens.
Sudan has been witnessing a deadly conflict between the SAF and the RSF since April 15, 2023. The United Nations says: At least 16,650 people have been reported killed in the war. About 10.7 million people are internally displaced, while another 2.2 million have fled outside Sudan.
