A total of 391 people have been reported to have died due to cholera and dengue fever during one year of war in Sudan.

The Ministry of Health of Sudan has announced the news and added that: "About 11,000 cholera cases have been registered, including 325 deaths in 12 states, while dengue fever cases have reached 9,000, including 66 deaths."

Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, Sudan's Minister of Health gave the information to the media and added that, despite the war, the ministry has managed to treat many people in the states affected by cholera and control the spread of the disease.

He has also touched on the efforts of his ministry to provide basic health services and noted that providing health services in all the states and regions of Sudan is a high priority for the ministry.

According to the minister, approximately 4,000 tons of life-saving drugs, including drugs for intravenous, kidney, cancer treatment and those used in medical laboratories, have been distributed to various states of Sudan.

He has also noted that the Ministry of Finance of Sudan bought emergency medical equipment worth 19 billion Sudanese pounds.

Since the war broke out between the military generals leading the two groups of SAF and RSF on April 15, 2023 until now, the health situation in Sudan has been very bad.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs estimates that 14,790 people have been killed and 8.2 million others have been forced to leave their homes since the war began.
