The African Union (AU) leaders have declared their support for Palestine and strongly condemned the crimes of the Zionist regime. The 38th African Union Summit has been held in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia.

The meeting concluded on Sunday, the 16th of this month after two days of discussions. The participants in the meeting strongly condemned the crimes and barbaric attacks of the Zionist regime against the people of the Gaza Strip. African countries have expressed independent and important positions on the crimes of the Zionist regime against Gaza. South Africa was the first country to take action to defend the people of Gaza and condemn the crimes of the Zionists.

South Africa filed a case with the International Criminal Court (ICC) regarding the crimes of the Zionist regime; and this became the basis for the court to issue an arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Galant, the former Minister of War of that regime. The positions of African countries, especially South Africa, have had a positive impact on the positions of other countries regarding the Palestinian issue and the crimes of the Zionist regime.

The independent and open positions of African countries have played a role in increasing pressure on the international community, international institutions and the world's majority opinion to take action against human rights violations and oppose the war crimes of the Zionist regime. Currently, African countries have once again announced at the African Union Summit their support for Palestine and demand that the crimes of the Zionist regime be addressed.

The final statement of the African Heads of State Summit stated that the participants of the summit have clearly declared that the Zionist regime has violated international law, attacked civilians and infrastructure, and committed genocide against the Palestinians. On this basis, the African heads of state have stressed the need to prosecute the Zionist leaders in international courts.

Another axis of the positions of African leaders regarding the crimes of the Zionist regime was in the economic field. These countries have called for the cessation of cooperation and the revival of relations between Arab and African countries and the Zionist regime. This position has been expressed by various countries, but it is of great importance because it has been adopted by an international institution. Of course, cutting off economic relations and also stopping the process of establishing relations with the Israeli regime is a traditional and effective step to put an end to the crimes of the Zionists.

Another pillar of the African leaders' positions is support for the Palestinians. Therefore, in this statement, the immediate release of all Palestinian prisoners, especially women and children, and opposition to the displacement of Palestinians from their land are emphasized.

Another pillar of the African leaders' positions is on supporting the Palestinians. On that basis, the statement of the African heads of state has emphasized the immediate release of Palestinian prisoners, especially women and children, and opposing the expulsion of Palestinian citizens from their land. These positions of the African heads of state are also among the main demands of the Palestinian people and resistance groups.

That is why the Palestinian Islamic Struggle Movement (Hamas) has also called the statement of the African heads of state at the 38th Summit of the African Union (AU) as the real position of African countries in defending Palestine and emphasized that: "We recognize these real positions of African countries as a natural continuation of their history of struggle against colonialism and oppression and their constant adherence to the values of freedom, justice and the right of various countries to self-govern and determine their future.

In general, we should say: The positions shown in the last two years by African countries to defend and defend Palestine and condemn the Zionist regime demonstrate how these countries take independent and independent positions on various issues in the world and their unafraid of threats from Western powers, especially threats from the United States.
