Al Burhan has told army officers and soldiers in the Wadi Saydna military area in Omdurman, west of Khartoum that: "We will not negotiate with the RSF as long as the war is still ongoing, and we are not ready to talk to the group as long as there are raids on civilian homes in the cities of El Geneina, Nyala, Zalingei, Al Daein (Darfur region, west of the country), Khartoum and Al Jazira.”

Al-Burhan added that: "If the rebels want to negotiate, they must first withdraw their forces from these cities and gather them in specific areas."

He added that: "We are committed to the Jeddah platform, but the other side must fulfill its obligations, according to what was signed in Jeddah."
