Alen Simonyan expects to meet his Azerbaijani colleague in the near future

The President of the National Assembly expects to meet with the President of the Milli Mejlis of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarova.

"I am personally looking forward to the news about the meeting between me and my Azerbaijani colleague, so that we can continue our conversation," said the speaker of the parliament in a conversation with "Azatutyan", while stressing that there is no clarity about a possible meeting at the moment.

Speakers of the parliaments of Armenia and Azerbaijan last met in Geneva in May, within the framework of the meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. Another meeting was supposed to take place in October, again in Geneva, but, according to the Armenian side, Gafarova refused at the last moment.

The chairman of Milli Mejlis announced today that the peace process with Yerevan is progressing step by step with the efforts of Baku.

Does this mean that there is progress on the non-agreed points, Alen Simonyan responded. "I don't see any problem in that statement, although it is obvious to the whole world what kind of efforts Armenia is making, even internally it is criticized for it, but I have a normal attitude to that statement, that it is moving forward as a result of Baku's efforts, the important thing is the establishment of peace is

As for reaching an agreement or not, there is nothing new at the moment, there is what we all know."
