Armenia is undergoing a creeping capitulation, which will not end even with the signing of some paper with Azerbaijan. Political scientist Stepan Danielyan expressed this opinion in a conversation with a NEWS.am correspondent.
In his assessment, Aliyev admitted that the text was drafted by Azerbaijan and forced the Armenian authorities to agree to it.
According to the expert, Baku has left the issue of a constitutional referendum in Armenia for the second stage, because it understands that the referendum will definitely fail now, since the authorities do not enjoy trust in society, and such a process could threaten the current regime in Armenia.
"Azerbaijan is saving the Armenian government, because as a result of the failure of the constitutional referendum, Pashinyan could lose power, and Azerbaijan could lose its obedient partner," Danielyan noted.
He expressed his belief that Baku is leaving a loophole for the use of force or the threat of force if the government does not want to change the Armenian Constitution in the future and will put forward new demands.
"Azerbaijan will use the judicial farce against the military-political leadership of Artsakh to file claims for compensation in the form of territories, and the rejection of the claims will completely cleanse Azerbaijan's image, which has suffered as a result of ethnic cleansing in Artsakh," the political scientist added.
He noted that the concessions made by the Armenian authorities create new grounds for future aggressive actions by Azerbaijan.
