The continuation of Armenia's armament policy poses a serious threat to stability in the South Caucasus.This was stated by the Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan, Zakir Hasanov, following the meeting of the Ministers of Defense of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia in Batumi.

Zakir Hasanov noted that Azerbaijan is interested in solving regional problems together with the countries of the region.

"The arming of Armenia in the future may become a source of danger not only for Azerbaijan, but also for the entire region," he said.

The issue of the constitutionality of the regulation on the joint work of the Armenia-Azerbaijan border demarcation commissions will be examined in the Constitutional Court on September 24. The information was given to Sputnik Armenia by the Supreme Court.

On August 30, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia announced that Armenia and Azerbaijan signed the regulation on the joint activity of the border demarcation and demarcation commissions.

According to the document, Yerevan and Baku agreed to implement the border delimitation based on the 1991 Alma Ata Declaration, but this agreement is not final.

The regulation states that the process may proceed according to other principles in the future, after the adoption of the peace agreement.

The regulation has 7 articles, mainly technical data related to the process, general formulations. Article 4, for example, mentions the possibility of border line optimization.

On September 5, the Armenian government approved the ratification of the regulation on the joint work of border demarcation commissions with Azerbaijan. On the same day, the document was sent to the Constitutional Court.
