On October 7, 2023, Palestinian resistance groups launched Operation Al-Aqsa Storm from the Gaza Strip against Zionist regime positions, and the regime retaliated by bombing residential, medical and cultural areas of the Gaza Strip to compensate for its defeat and stop the resistance groups' activities. . Approximately 3 months after Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, the Zionist regime continues to bomb various areas of Gaza, including residential and medical facilities, to compensate for its irreparable failure, and in its latest action, it is trying to completely cut off access to the Rafah crossing with US cooperation. Meanwhile, Israeli sources speak of two plans by the regime to close the only route of communication between Gaza and the outside world, namely the border with Egypt; concrete barriers underground and military occupation of the Philadelphia Line are actions that Israel intends to carry out with US support and will further involve Egypt in the Gaza issue. According to RT News Agency, the Minister of War of the Zionist regime, at a recent meeting with his American counterpart Lloyd Austin, who visited the occupied territories, proposed building a “smart” concrete wall between Gaza and Egypt with financial assistance from the United States. This 13-kilometer wall will be equipped with advanced sensor and camera technology and other tools to prevent tunnel-digging between the Gaza Strip and Egypt, and will provide the Israeli and Egyptian sides with daily information about traffic around the wall and possible tunnel-digging operations. On the other hand, in a situation where the Israeli regime has used every possible means to achieve its goal in the Gaza Strip and dropped tens of thousands of bombs and rockets on the inhabitants of the area, the military authorities of the Zionist regime claim that, without cutting off the only way to breathe for the Gazans at the border with Egypt, they have no way of defeating Hamas. Meanwhile, the Israeli and American regimes are trying to bring the country into their plans by intimidating Egypt regarding a ground operation in Rafah. In this regard, Cairo has repeatedly warned about the ground operation of the Israeli regime army in Rafah and stated that this operation would lead to a flow of Palestinian refugees into the Sinai Desert. Meanwhile, Tel Aviv says that if Cairo does not want a ground operation in Rafah, it must cooperate to block the route from Gaza to Egypt. The Philadelphia Line is a 14 km-long buffer zone created after the 1978 Camp David Agreement between Egypt and Israel as a buffer between Gaza and the Sinai Desert.
