Biden discussed with Modi the visit of the Indian Prime Minister to Poland and Ukraine, as well as the meeting to be held in September at the UN General Assembly.
According to the White House, the US leader praised Modi's trip, as well as "his message of peace and continued humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, including in the energy sector."
"The leaders have confirmed their unchanging support for the peaceful resolution of the conflict, in accordance with international law and on the basis of the UN Charter," the message said.
In turn, Modi wrote in X that during the phone conversation with Biden, he discussed various regional and global issues, including the situation in Ukraine and Bangladesh.
Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kiev and New Delhi in 1992, the Prime Minister of India made his first visit to Ukraine on August 23, before which he visited Poland. In a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Modi assured that India is ready to play an active role in any efforts to achieve peace between Russia and Ukraine.
