Catholic world leader calls for investigation into Gaza genocide

The leader of the world's Catholics demanded that the international community investigate the "genocide" of the Zionist regime in the Gaza Strip.Pope Francis said the Zionist army's attacks on the Gaza Strip and Lebanon are war crimes and the Israeli occupation regime has violated all the laws of war

Using words like "terrorism" and "genocide" that Vatican diplomats have so far refrained from declaring, the Pope responded sharply to the Israeli regime's genocidal war in the Gaza Strip.

In violation of UN Security Council resolutions and the international law of war, the Zionist regime has targeted civilian infrastructure, including hospitals, churches, mosques, refugee camps and residential areas in the Gaza Strip.

More than 1 million Gazans have been forced to flee their homes as severe shortages of food, medicine, medical equipment and clean water have made it impossible to live in the Gaza Strip, and the delivery of humanitarian aid has been slow due to the transformation of key border crossings into war zones.

Since October 7, 2023, the genocidal regime of Israel, with the full support of the United States and some other Western countries, has launched a massacre in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank against the defenseless and oppressed people of Palestine, and the silence of the international community and human rights institutions regarding the crimes of the Israeli occupation regime has led to the continuation of the killing of Palestinian women and children by the military machine of the illegitimate Zionist regime.

According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, at least 43,846 Palestinians have been martyred and at least 103,740 injured in attacks by the Zionist regime in the Gaza Strip since October 7.

Most of the martyrs and wounded were women, children and middle-aged people.

More than 10,000 Palestinians are still buried under the rubble and should be added to the number of martyrs when the war is over.
