CDC: Infections of sexually transmitted diseases are on the rise in the United States
Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) appear to be increasing at an alarming rate among adults in the United States.
New data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the country show that the prevalence of sexually transmitted diseases such as gonorrhea, syphilis and chlamydia has doubled among people aged 55 and over in the 10 years between 2012 and 2022.
Justyna Kowalska, the author of the article about the research, who is also a professor at the Medical University of Warsaw has warned that doctors and adults in the United States are ignoring the infection among people over 55 years old.
Prof Kowaska has explained that: We talk about smoking, diet, exercise, and many other things, but we don't talk at all about sex (carelessness).
Doctors in the United States have warned that the rapid spread of sexually transmitted diseases among adults has been greatly contributed to the weakening of the body's immune system.
It is not wrong to indicate here that, the infection of sexually transmitted diseases, especially chlamydia, among people aged 45 and over increased by 22 percent in England in 2022.
Health experts say that the big campaign to end same-sex marriage and relationships has greatly contributed to the increase in the spread of sexually transmitted diseases in Western countries.
