China reacts to US arms sales to Taiwan

Sahab- China imposed sanctions on 13 military companies and 6 senior American executives in response to the sale of American weapons to Taiwan.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian announced yesterday that the US has repeatedly sold weapons to the island of Taiwan, violating laws and agreements related to the One China principle.

Stating that the Taiwan Island issue is the core of China's interests, Lin Jian said that the sale of American weapons to Taiwan is a clear violation of the principle of the One China Policy and the three joint declarations between the two countries.

China has decided to take punitive measures against relevant US military companies and executives based on the anti-sanctions law. The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman once again called on senior US officials to abide by the one-China principle and the joint statements of the two countries, especially the August 17 statement, and to fulfill their commitment not to support Taiwan's separation.

China and Taiwan have been governed by separate governments since 1949 due to civil war, but China has always considered the island part of its territory.
