China, territories occupied by Russia? Wrong wsj report
On the hypothesis reported by the WSJ of a Chinese proposal on the ceasefire, with part of the occupied territories remaining under Moscow's control, Beijing's special envoy Li Hui stated that "the report is not in line with the facts". Li, in a briefing on his recent mission to Europe, "recalled that Kuleba said he had not heard" such things from the parties involved. "I don't know who this official mentioned by the WSJ is", added the diplomat, assuring that Ukraine "appreciated our position on respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity and on respect for the UN charter". and the EU do not want a cold war against China.
This was stated by the US secretary of state, Antony Blinken, during the press conference at the conclusion of the EU-US Trade and Technology Council (TTC) in Lulea, Sweden. “We have remarkable convergence when it comes to our approach to the main challenges we face, whether it is dealing with Russia's aggression on Ukraine, some export controls we have collaborated on, or some challenges posed by China. From our conversations, once again, the most recurring word has been convergence,” he said. “Together we have been working on things like investment screening mechanisms, export control coordination, supply chain diversification and some of the non-market practices we see,” he added.
“We start from exactly the same approach: none of us seeks confrontation, none of us seeks the cold war, and none of us seeks decoupling from China. Conversely, we all benefit from trade and investment with China, but unlike decoupling, we are focused on risk reduction, and you've heard the same language from leaders on both sides of the Atlantic,” Blinken concluded.
