Continuation of America's interventionist approach to the war in Ukraine
Continuing its interventionist approach to the war in Ukraine, the US government intends to cover the costs of this war until the US presidential elections in 2024. The British newspaper The Daily Telegraph reported last Saturday evening that the administration of US President Joe Biden plans to transfer the country a package containing financial aid and weapons worth $100 billion, under the pretext of the war in Ukraine. This comes at a time when government officials and the US Congress are deeply divided over government funding, and Congress has rejected Biden's request for $24 billion in aid to Ukraine under the pretext of the country's war. Since the start of the war in Ukraine in February 2022, the US Congress, under the pretext of war, has approved four military packages worth $113 billion for that country, and so far about $73 billion worth of weapons and funds have been delivered to Ukraine.
European and Western countries, especially the United States, increasing sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation and supplying Kiev with all kinds of light and heavy weapons, not only did not take a single step towards ending the war in Ukraine, but fueled the fire of conflicts in this country more than before. Russian officials, as well as some Western experts and media, call the war in Ukraine a proxy war between the West and Russia. Russia has repeatedly stated that sending Western weapons to Ukraine will only prolong the conflict in that country and will have unpredictable consequences.
