Corbyn: Britain is in moral decline
The former leader of the main British opposition (Labour) party called the UK's decision to stop financial assistance to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency shameful.
“Our government should be ashamed of its moral depravity towards Palestinians who are dying of hunger,” Jeremy Corbyn commented in response to the UK's decision to suspend funding for UNRWA. Corbyn on social page X mentioned the UK's actions to stop financial assistance to UNRWA (United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees), despite yesterday's (Saturday) International Court of Justice (ICJ) verdict condemning the genocide of Palestinian refugees by the Zionist regime in Gaza . The International Court of Justice, based in The Hague, has issued a preliminary verdict against Israel, requiring the regime to take the necessary measures to prevent genocide in the Gaza Strip. The former leader of Britain's main opposition Labor Party wrote of the British actions: "This is collective punishment." Currently, 9 countries, including the USA, England, Italy, Finland, the Netherlands, Australia and Scotland, have suspended financial assistance to this institution under the pretext of the involvement of UNRWA personnel in the Hamas attack on the Zionist regime on October 7 last year (Operation Al-Aqsa Storm ").
