Muslim and Arab Americans: We will not vote for Biden

“Biden is ineligible to vote because of his complicity in the genocide of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. I will not vote for him,” Khaled Torani, a 57-year-old consultant from Michigan and head of the Muslim American movement known in that state as “Dump Biden,” said in an interview with CNN. Many Arab Americans and Muslim voters in the country told this US channel that they will not vote for Joe Biden's re-election campaign for another four-year term because of his unwavering support for Israel and his lack of call for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza . Although there are about 10 months left until Election Day in the United States, many experts believe based on the results of the Republican Party primary elections that after Trump’s exit from this party and the possibility of his rematch with Biden in a difficult election is still very likely. In the November 2020 US election, Biden was supported by several prominent American Muslim officials and Muslim community leaders, but this time many are pessimistic and angry. Ariana, a 27-year-old content producer from California, expressed her feelings: “I feel like I'm being exploited as a Muslim voter. Biden used people like me to get elected.” Overall, the number of Middle Eastern Americans or Muslim Americans in the country is small, with 3.5 million according to the 2020 Census equivalent to about 1 percent of the total U.S. population of nearly 335 million citizens. But the outcome of the 2024 presidential election could be determined in several key states where Middle Eastern and American Muslims are concentrated, such as Michigan, Virginia, Georgia, Pennsylvania and Arizona. Experts warn that the danger to Democrats is not limited to Arab and Muslim voters, with young Americans, blacks and Jews joining Muslim Americans in demonstrations across the United States in support of the Gaza Strip.
