Death Toll in Gaza Surpasses 46,000 Amid Intensified Strikes

The death toll in Gaza has reached a devastating 46,645, with over 110,000 individuals injured since the onset of the ongoing conflict. In the past 24 hours, 61 people were killed in Israeli airstrikes, with an additional 281 injured and hospitalized.

The latest wave of attacks is being described as a series of mass killings, with several families reportedly killed in the strikes. These recent developments highlight the escalating human cost of the conflict, particularly in the densely populated Gaza Strip.

The violence began on October 7, 2023, when Hamas militants launched an unprecedented rocket barrage into Israel, followed by a ground assault on Israeli border areas. This attack resulted in the deaths of approximately 1,200 Israelis and the capture of over 200 hostages.

In response, Israel's military launched Operation Iron Swords, targeting both Hamas militants and civilian infrastructure within Gaza. Additionally, Israel imposed a complete blockade on the Gaza Strip, halting the flow of essential supplies including water, electricity, food, fuel, and medicine, further deepening the humanitarian crisis in the region.
