In his speech at the plenary session of the 16th BRICS summit, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that Armenia offered Azerbaijan mechanisms for simplified border and customs control procedures for communication with Nakhichevan.
The Prime Minister of Armenia noted that all claims that Armenia has somehow agreed to a third country to ensure the security of communications in its sovereign territory, or that it is stated in some document, do not correspond to reality.
On October 24, the President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan signed the law "On Ratifying the Regulation on the Joint Activities of the Commission on Demarcation of the State Border and Border Security between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan and the State Commission on the Demarcation of the State Border between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Armenia".

The regulation was signed on August 30.
