Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the President of Turkey, made the announcement that his country aspires to join the Economic Union and submitted an application for membership prior to the 16th summit of the Economic Union.

The Kazan Declaration of the BRICS countries, entitled "Strengthening Multilateralism for Fair Global Development and Security", was published on the Kremlin's website.
"Recognizing the Johannesburg Declaration 2023, we reaffirm our support for a comprehensive reform of the United Nations (including the UN Security Council) to enhance its democracy, representativeness, effectiveness and implementation, as well as to expand the representation of developing countries in the BRICS Council, so that it can adequately respond to urgent global challenges," the document says.
In addition, BRICS leaders support the legitimate aspirations of developing countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America, including BRICS states, to play an important role in international affairs, particularly in the United Nations (including the UN Security Council), as well as to recognize African countries legitimate aspirations reflected in the Ezulwini and Sirte Declarations.
