Doctors Without Borders (MSF) said today that it has been forced to close its medical facility in the Al-Mawasi area of the Gaza Strip due to intense shelling.
"This morning, due to intense shelling and gunfire in Al-Mawasi, in the southern Gaza Strip, 12 members of our team and their families were trapped in their homes, and another 30 people were trapped in our office. Due to the lack of security, our teams were forced to close the Al-Mawasi clinic," the organization said in a statement posted on the X social network.
The organization expressed deep concern about the safety of its staff and medical personnel in the Gaza Strip. One of the workers said that tanks had entered Al-Mawasi and people were forced to lie on the floor of their homes for hours.Doctors Without Borders has reiterated its call on all parties to the conflict to protect civilians and humanitarian workers, as well as to establish a permanent ceasefire.
"Amnesty International's investigation has found sufficient evidence to conclude that Israel has committed and continues to commit genocide against Palestinians in the occupied Gaza Strip... unleashing hell and destruction, and doing so brazenly, continuously and with complete impunity," the organization said in a statement.
According to Amnesty International, Israel is blatantly "committing acts prohibited by the Genocide Convention with the specific intent to destroy Palestinians in the Gaza Strip."
According to Amnesty International Secretary General Agnes Callamard, the organization's "reprehensible revelations should serve as a wake-up call to the international community."
"States that continue to supply weapons to Israel should know that they are violating their obligations to prevent genocide and may be complicit in this crime. All countries with influence over Israel, especially the US, UK, EU members and others, must act immediately to stop Israel's atrocities against Palestinians in Gaza," he said.
Amnesty International also noted that during the investigation, the organization's staff "interviewed 212 people, conducted field research and analyzed a wide range of video and digital evidence, including satellite imagery."
