Efforts by Muslim delegates at the Democratic National Convention to impose sanctions on Israel

Dozens of representatives and Muslim groups, annoyed by the US support for the attacks of the Zionist regime of Israel in Gaza, are planning to make changes in the election plan of the Democratic Party and emphasize the issue of arms embargo against Israel.

The four-day conference started yesterday Monday in Chicago, and Kamala Harris is expected to be officially announced as the candidate of the Democratic Party in the US presidential election later this year.

A Palestinian advocacy group calling itself "Ambassadors Against Genocide" says it will exercise its right to free speech at the Democratic National Convention this week to make its case. The group wants to ban the aid of weapons to people and groups that have violated human rights. Liano Sharon, a member of this group, said: "We want our voice to be heard." Brandon Johnson, the mayor of Chicago, said on the eve of the Democratic National Convention held in that city, that the war of the Zionist regime of Israel against the people of Gaza is genocide.

The Democratic party's draft manifesto, released in mid-July, calls for an "immediate and permanent cessation of hostilities" in Gaza and the release of hostages. However, the draft did not touch at all the more than 40,000 citizens of Gaza, most of whom are children and women, who were martyred in the Israeli war, and it also did not mention the need to limit the US arms aid to Israel. This is despite the fact that, last week the United States approved another arms aid worth 20 billion dollars to Israel.

Israel continues the genocide in Gaza with the support of the United States

Despite the empire and the great political and military support of the United States of America to the Zionist regime and despite the regime defying the wishes of the international community to stop the war in Gaza, the Joe Biden administration is content to give warnings without any effect to Tel Aviv without using pressure political and financial means to force Israel to end the war in Gaza. Likewise, while the Zionist regime continues to commit genocide of the people of Gaza and use the weapon of starvation to persecute the Palestinians, the Biden government is using its influence to prevent any movement to condemn the regime in international institutions and also deal with the crime in international courts as such as the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court.

We should emphasize here that the Biden administration is implementing hypocritical and duplicitous policies in relation to Israel. While the majority of Democratic lawmakers in the United States Congress oppose the sale of arms to the Zionist regime, the White House continues to arm Tel Aviv and send a large shipment of military equipment and powerful bombs to the Zionist regime. to kill the oppressed citizens of Gaza. It is clear that this unlimited aid from the White House to Tel Aviv has been a green light for Israel to continue the genocide in Palestine and use the weapon of hunger to destroy generations of Gazans. The saddest thing is that, along with all this, the White House claims that it wants to stop the bloody war in Gaza!

The question that arises here is that, if Joe Biden really wants to end the war in Gaza, why doesn't he put any pressure on Israel, or at least why doesn't he take action to stop sending bombs to the Zionist regime that directly target the people of Gaza?

These hypocritical policies of the Joe Biden government regarding the Gaza war and the development of the empire and military aid and weapons to the Zionist regime have been the reason for the decrease in the support of American Muslim and Arab voters for the Democratic Party.
