Emergency ceasefire decision in Gaza was approved by the UN Security Council
The emergency ceasefire decision in the Gaza Strip region was finally approved by the UN Security Council after months of attacks by the Zionist regime army against this region.
According to AP, on Monday, 14 out of 15 members of the UN Security Council voted in support of the resolution proposed by non-permanent members of this council to establish an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. This time, the USA, which is a permanent member of this council, did not veto the ceasefire decision in Gaza but abstained, and thus the decision to establish a ceasefire in Gaza was approved.
The immediate and unconditional release of all hostages and guaranteeing humanitarian access to the Gaza Strip are among the articles of this decision.
Mozambique's Ambassador to the United Nations "Pedro Comisario Afonso" presented the draft decision on the ceasefire in Gaza on behalf of other countries and said: We thank all members of this council for their efforts in this matter and their views on the decision and their efforts to end the catastrophic situation in the Gaza Strip.
Mozambique's Ambassador to the United Nations added: "The situation in Gaza is alarming for the entire international community; in fact, the escalation of the conflict in the Gaza Strip and its disastrous consequences are a clear threat to international peace and security."
This decision was approved 171 days later. Resolutions previously proposed by other countries had failed twice with a US veto vote, so the Zionist regime continued its genocidal operation in Gaza with the help of its long-time supporter Washington.
The Zionist regime has launched a massive massacre against the defenseless and oppressed Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip with the full support of the USA and Western countries since October 7, 2023.
Since the beginning of the Zionist regime's attacks on the Gaza Strip, 32 thousand 226 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been martyred and 74 thousand 518 Palestinians have been injured.
