Venezuelan President: White House conspired to kill me
President Nicolas Maduro of Venezuela has accused the former president of the United States, Donald Trump, that he was at the forefront of planning a failed plot to assassinate the Latin American leader. Maduro revealed this in his speech in front of the Congress to celebrate the 86th anniversary of the establishment of the National Guard of the country, which coincided with the day when the plot to assassinate him failed 5 years ago. He has said that Trump in 2018 ordered the White House of the United States to plan a strategy to kill the president of Venezuela with a drone attack.
Maduro has noted that the White House of the United States wanted the attack to be carried out by a terrorist group based in a neighboring country and Venezuela. The former president of the United States, Donald Trump, the President of Venezuela, has stated that their investigation has revealed that the United States wanted to use the then president of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos, to achieve the conspiracy. He said that Santos was the head of the strategy in the conspiracy organized by the White House, a few days before the Colombian president ended his term of office. Several soldiers were injured in the drone attack on August 4, 2018, when Maduro was addressing a public meeting in Caracas.
