President Erdogan's Turkey has also intervened on the attempted mutiny of the private military company Wagner against Russia. According to Russian media reports, the Kremlin reported a phone call between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The latter would have expressed "full support" for Putin.

“At the initiative of the Turkish side, the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with the Turkish president”, enlisting his support. Again according to a note from the Kremlin, Putin "provided" Erdogan with "information on the situation in the country in relation to an attempted armed rebellion". The Turkish president "expressed his full support for the measures taken" by Putin, reads the note.
