Erdogan Criticizes Deployment of US Warships in the Region
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan criticized the deployment of aircraft carriers to the eastern coast of the Mediterranean near Palestine, stating that this action by the US government would lead to massacres and severe killings in Gaza.According to the Turkish news agency Anadolu, Erdogan added, 'What will the American aircraft carrier do in Israel, and what will it do with all its ships and planes coming there? They will start massacring and destroying all of Gaza and its surroundings.'
Furthermore, the Turkish President stated that there are currently more than 20 American bases in Syria and asked, 'What are the American bases doing in Syria? Shouldn't we evaluate all these bases? The US just shot down a Turkish drone. Isn't Turkey a partner of the USA in NATO? How do we interpret and evaluate this action?'Additionally, Erdogan said, 'Unfortunately, America treats us like an ally when needed and is currently training and arming all terrorist organizations. Unfortunately, through these organizations, it turns the region into a bloodbath, both in Syria and the Middle East.'He emphasized that the solution to the Middle East conflict is only possible through the formation of an independent Palestinian state within the borders of 1967, with East Al-Quds (East Jerusalem) as its capital."
