European leaders condemned the assassination attempt on the Slovak prime minister

The heads of European countries and institutions condemned the attempted assassination of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico and unanimously stated that "these actions have no place in Europe".

According to the the Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, reacted to the assassination of Fico on the social network X (formerly Twitter) and wrote: "I am shocked and horrified by the shooting of Robert Fitso and I hope he gets well soon. I stand by him, his loved ones and the people of Slovakia ."

Ursula von Der Leyen, the president of the European Commission, also considered the attempted assassination of the Slovak prime minister an act that undermines democracy and wrote on the social network X: "I strongly condemn the shameful attack on Robert Fico. These actions have no place in our societies ."

Yesterday, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico was shot and taken to hospital by helicopter after leaving a meeting with members of the government .

According to the Sputnik agency, the surgical intervention of the prime minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, was successfully performed .

Earlier, the television channel "Markiza" in Slovakia reported that the person responsible for the attack on Prime Minister Fico is a 71-year-old writer named "Juraj Cintula", a writer who founded a literary association in Slovakia.
