European Union Warns Apple and Google
The European Union has warned companies Apple and Google to be transparent about the risks of buying their apps.
Apple and Google are among dozens of the world's largest technology companies facing stricter regulations since the Digital Services Act, known as the DSA, took effect this year. This unprecedented law includes new obligations to address illegal content and online security risks. According to RN on Saturday (16/12/2023), the European Commission announced that according to the Digital Services Act (DSA), Apple and Google must clarify their risk management regarding online platforms for app purchases . The European Union announced in a statement: The European Commission wants these service providers to provide more information on how to identify systemic risks related to the App Store and Google Play. These two companies were given until January 15 2024 to respond to this request. Today, almost all apps use message alerts to provide information to users, but what many users may not know is that almost all of these notifications go through Google and Apple servers. As a result, these two companies can have important access to information about applications and users. (MF)
