Finally, Denmark decides to ban acts of desecration of the Holy Qur'an

The Danish court has decided to ban the desecration of the Holy Qur'an following the negative effects of such actions. Denmark's justice minister told reporters on Friday that the government will present a bill that will "prohibit the desecration of everything that is of great religious importance to a religious community." Minister of Justice Peter Hummelgaard said that the law is aimed mainly at insults committed by a few people in public places in the country of Scandinavia, which has angered Muslims around the world. In the latest act of desecration of the Holy Qur'an in neighboring Sweden, a person who has committed acts of desecration of the Holy Book of Muslims set it on fire in front of the Iranian embassy in Stockholm. Instead of stopping the act, the Swedish police instead arrested the woman who tried to stop the criminal. The desecration of the Holy Qur'an, which has been approved by the Swedish police under the pretext of freedom of speech laws, has sparked outrage across the Muslim world, leading to the expulsion of Swedish and Danish diplomats from several countries.

Earlier this month, speaking in a telephone conversation with his Danish colleague, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, explained that the disrespect of the Holy Qur'an hurts the feelings of all Muslims in Islamic countries and therefore the government must of that country should take action to stop such evil actions. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, Lars Lokke Rasmussen, for his part, expressed his deep regret from these actions and stressed that the government of his country strongly condemns any act of disrespecting the Holy Qur'an. The Danish diplomat said freedom of expression is allowed by Danish law, but expressed regret that some people are abusing it, "which we find unacceptable." "These few people should not be considered representatives of the Danish people."
