Former US diplomat: Gaza crimes will 'haunt' Blinken for the rest of his life

A US diplomat who resigned last year to protest the Gaza war and Washington's support for it has said that the crimes committed by the Zionist regime against the Palestinians in the war will 'haunt' the country's Secretary of State Antony Blinken for the rest of his life.

Hala Rharrit has reminded us that President Joe Biden's administration is violating the principles of the United States itself by continuing to provide weapons to Israel despite the proven atrocities that the Zionist regime has committed in Gaza.

"History, of course, will judge him, and it is already doing so today. The question is: in future administrations, will there really be accountability for the crimes that were committed under this administration?" asked Rharrit, who decided to resign from his position at the US State Department in April last year after serving for 18 years.

The former US diplomat went on to explain that it is normal and expected for someone to oppose "genocide and human beings being slaughtered like slaughterhouses", and predicted that Blinken will continue to face opponents even after he officially leaves his post on Monday.

"This will haunt him for the rest of his life," Rharrit stressed.

Antony Blinken, who has a long history of ardent defense of the Zionist regime in Israel, has been verbally attacked by Palestinian rights protesters in congressional hearings, on the streets, and even in front of his home.

Even this past week, several activists interrupted Blinken's speech at the Atlantic Council in Washington, DC, calling him the "minister of genocide."

It will be recalled that, last November, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Minister of War, Yoav Gallant, on charges of war crimes, including using "starvation as a weapon of war".

However, Blinken stood before the US Congress and defended Israel for not blocking humanitarian aid from reaching Gaza, a claim that has been 'denied' by humanitarian organizations.

Blinken has also played a major role in ensuring that the Zionist regime of Israel continues to receive American weapons that it uses to wreak havoc in the Gaza Strip.

The top US diplomat has also overseen the country's diplomatic mission to the United Nations, which has consistently vetoed and blocked four Security Council resolutions that called for a ceasefire in Gaza.
