The presidents of France and Egypt, as well as the king of Jordan, called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza in a joint article in the French newspaper Le Monde.

According to AJ news agency, French President Emmanuel Macron, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and King Abdullah II of Jordan stressed the need for immediate implementation of the Security Council resolution on an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the release of prisoners in a joint article in the French newspaper Le Monde.

The presidents of the three countries in question expressed their support for ongoing negotiations through Egypt, the United States and Qatar and warned of the consequences of a ground attack on Rafah, where more than 1.5 million people are displaced.

Macron, El-Sisi and King Abdullah II said the military operation in Rafah would only lead to more casualties and suffering and increase the risk of escalating tensions in the region.

In this joint article, the Presidents of France and Egypt and the King of Jordan also called for the immediate and unconditional implementation of Security Council Resolution 2728.
