From Muqawama in the West Bank to the Right of Return Demonstration in the Gaza Strip
As a continuation of the desecration of the sanctity of the al-Aqsa Mosque by Zionist settlers in the past few days on the grounds of the Jewish holiday, Sunday (1/10/2023) early morning, Zionist settlers illegally invaded this holy place and carried out provocative actions. Right-wing Zionist settlers sang and danced and stomped their feet at the entrances to the al-Aqsa Mosque.
Previously, various extreme Zionist settler groups "Defenders of Solomon's Temple" spread calls to launch a massive attack on the al-Aqsa Mosque on three Jewish holidays starting on September 17 and continuing until mid-October. This provocative action drew a response from Palestinian muqawama from the West Bank of the Jordan River to the Gaza Strip. In the West Bank, various muqawama groups in just the past 24 hours have launched 14 anti-Zionist operations in various points in the West Bank. Muqawama troop operations were launched in Quds, Nablus, Tulkarem, Qalqilya, Jenin, Qalandiya, Ramallah and al-Khalil (Hebron).
In the Gaza Strip, young Gaza fighters warned that the al-Aqsa Mosque as the mi'raj of the Prophet Muhammad SAW is a red line, and if the invaders violate this holy place and the Palestinians in it, then the fire of muqawama on the Gaza border will reignite. What adds even more weight to this threat is the start of the Right of Return march in Gaza after 2020. The Right of Return March for Palestinians During 2018 to 2020, Right of Return marches were regularly held in the Gaza Strip, and it became a nightmare for Zionists, especially for Zionist settlers in the surrounding area. . March 30 2018, coinciding with Earth Day in Palestine, many Palestinians who inhabit accommodation camps both inside Palestine and outside Palestine moved towards the border of occupied Palestine.
The slogan of the Palestinian march was a demand to return to their homeland. Considering that the distance between the Palestinian camp and the border is very far, the right of return march after Earth Day in 2018 was only held in Gaza with the aim of breaking the blockade of this area, and the march was held every week until the end of 2020. Although the holding of this demonstration brought huge human casualties to the Palestinian people , but because in this way the Palestinian people can survive and the right of return of Palestinian refugees can be maintained, and prevent the Zionist regime's efforts to make this a form of violence, they continue to carry out this action and now they are continuing it with exactly the same goal.
From March 2018 to the end of 2020, on the border of the Gaza Strip with the 1948 occupation (Israel), as many as 215 Palestinians died at the hands of the Israeli military, and 50 of them were children. Around 20 thousand people in this march were injured, and five thousand of them were children. Even though the situation in Gaza has eased slightly after two weeks of the "Right of Return" action following mediation by Qatar and Israel which were willing to reopen the Erez crossing, the continuation of provocative Zionist actions at the al-Aqsa Mosque could trigger another escalation.
According to Israel's Kanal 13 TV, Tel Aviv was forced to close crossings in Gaza following Right of Return marches on the Gaza Strip's eastern border and fires and shootings in the occupied Palestinian territories, but ultimately surrendered to Hamas and opened the crossings so Palestinian workers could enter occupied Palestine. Previously, since September 17 2023 following the resumption of Palestinian protests and demonstrations around the Gaza Strip, the Israeli regime prohibited the entry of Palestinian workers from Gaza into the 1948 occupied territory via the Beit Hanoun “Erez” crossing. Concerns about the resumption of the Right of Return March and the continuation of this action have prompted the Zionists, apart from re-evaluating Gaza's security conditions and sending larger troops to the Gaza border area with occupied Palestine, to also target a number of points in this small area with air strikes.
Image Caption Apart from that, this demonstration also caused losses for the Zionist regime by destroying normal living conditions, disrupting economic activity, and causing fires that were many times greater than wars in general. Another factor that worries the start of the March for the Right of Return for the Zinis is the erosion that this march will cause in the Zionist army. The Israeli military units stationed in the Gaza Strip never feel calm, and for several weeks in a row they have been on alert and ready for war. The resumption of the right of return march not only raised fears, also increased distrust in the Zionist government at a time when internal protests against the judicial reform bill were increasingly widespread, and sparked despair in the regime's cabinet.
