Germany closes with nuclear power plants
Greenpeace ecological activists celebrated in Berlin the definitive closure of the last three German nuclear plants, which took place during the night, with a large demonstration with picturesque sculptures and signs. A large celebration event was also held in Munich, the land where one of the three closed power plants is located, the Isar 2 complex. The other two power plants are in the North of Emsland and in Neckarwestheim, in Lower Saxony. The decision to end nuclear energy was accelerated by former Chancellor Angela Merkel in 2011 after the Fukushima nuclear disaster in Japan.
