Guterres admits the moral scandal of the Zionist regime in preventing humanitarian aid from entering Gaza
Antonio Guterres, the Secretary General of the United Nations, has visited the Rafah crossing (between the Gaza Strip and Egypt), in the sixth month of the genocide of the Zionist regime in Gaza, and mentioned the act of the Zionist regime to prevent aid humanitarian entry into Gaza as a "moral scandal".
The sixth month of the Zionist regime's war against Gaza is about to end, months in which the brutal regime has carried out genocide against the residents of Gaza. According to Guterres, Tel Aviv is implementing an illegal and inhumane policy of punishing the Palestinians together, which cannot be justified in any way.
One of the politics of mass punishment is preventing humanitarian aid from entering Gaza while the people of that zone, especially children, are dying of hunger. On that basis, while noting that the time for the implementation of the ceasefire for humanitarian reasons has come, the Secretary General of the United Nations has said that it is sad to see that the trucks are parked on one side of the crossing while a bar of hunger is witnessed on the other side. Displaced Palestinian children, women and men continue to witness an "endless nightmare". Guterres added that the time has come for Israel to confirm its intention to deliver humanitarian aid to all areas of Gaza and release all hostages immediately.
Another issue is that, Guterres' visit has taken place in a situation where, despite international requests to stop the Israeli attack on Rafah, the Tel Aviv administration is threatening to launch a ground military operation in the city of Rafah, south of Gaza, around and the border with Egypt with the support of Washington. In relation to that, the Secretary General of the United Nations has warned that another major attack in Gaza will increase the suffering Palestinians are currently facing.
Antonio Guterres, the Secretary General of the United Nations, has been clearly stating his position on the situation in Gaza on several occasions. He has repeatedly warned about the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza and stressed that such a situation has never been witnessed again in history. One of the important steps taken by Guterres regarding Gaza is to use Article 99 of the UN Charter, which had not been used for decades. The article empowers the Secretary General of the United Nations to highlight issues that threaten international peace and security.
Despite the firm and strong position of the Secretary General of the United Nations, but the international institution has failed to stop the genocide in Gaza. The issue stems from the action of three Western countries, namely the United States, England and France, which are permanent members of the Security Council, to oppose any resolution to end the war in Gaza. Practically, those countries have made the United Nations and the Security Council their important tool to defend the illegal interests of the Zionists and on that basis they are fully participating in the moral scandal of the Zionist administration.
