Antonio Guterres, has once again warned about the dire situation in the Gaza Strip and added: "We must respect the resolutions of the International Court of Justice and we are concerned about the humanitarian situation of the Palestinians in Gaza." The Secretary General of the United Nations has said that the support of the United Nations Organization for Serving Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA) should be maintained and said: UNRWA is the backbone of humanitarian efforts in Gaza. On the other hand, Martin Griffiths, Coordinator of the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Aid, said at the Security Council meeting held yesterday to discuss the situation in Palestine that: "Every day that passes, it increases the misery and suffering of the people of Gaza." Gaza Martin Griffiths has explained that the ongoing fighting along Khan Yunis has forced thousands of people to evacuate their homes towards Rafah and said: This area now houses more than half of Gaza's 2.2 million residents. Pointing out that more than 60% of people's homes have been demolished or destroyed across Gaza and explaining that: We now estimate that about 75% of the total population of Gaza have become refugees. Reports show that more than 26 thousand Palestinians have been killed and thousands of others have been injured due to brutal attacks by the Zionist regime of Israel.
