Guterres: The world is facing a climate change crisis
The Secretary General of the United Nations has warned that the world is facing a climate change crisis. Antonio Guterres has said this at the summit of the ASEAN Community IN Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia. At the meeting of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations held in Jakarta, Guterres has asked the leaders of the community to take steps to reduce emissions and support green development. The Secretary General of the United Nations has said that the months of June, July and August broke the record for being extremely hot and that this situation shows the need to increase joint strength and solidarity in dealing with climate change. Guterres said this in his speech in front of the leaders of the 10 countries that make up the ASEAN Community as well as representatives of South Korea, the United States, Japan, China, Russia, India, Australia and New Zealand. The Secretary General of the United Nations has proposed the existence of what he called a "Joint Climate Agreement" in which countries that emit a large amount of greenhouse gases will make additional efforts to reduce the air, and rich countries will encourage the availability of financial and technical resources to support support countries with emerging economies. For his part, Indonesian President Joko Widodo, who is the host of the meeting, has called on world leaders to resolve ongoing conflicts during the summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, ASEAN.
