Hamas Announces Terms of Prisoner Exchange Agreement with Israel
Head of the Hamas Political Bureau, in the Gaza Strip, Yahya Sinwar, announced new conditions for the release of prisoners of the Zionist Regime.
Quoted by Israeli television station, Makan 33, Thursday (21/12/2023) Yahya Sinwar, explained to international mediators the terms of the agreement to release Israeli prisoners. He said that the release of Israeli prisoners could only be carried out based on an "all for all" mechanism, after a complete ceasefire was implemented in Gaza. Yahya Sinwar emphasized that if Israel wants its prisoners alive, then the prisoner exchange can only be carried out after a complete ceasefire, and based on an "all for all" mechanism. Previously, the media advisor to the Head of the Hamas Political Bureau, Taher Al Nunu, denied some of the reports regarding negotiations between Hamas and Tel Aviv regarding a new agreement to free Israeli prisoners in Gaza. Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported Thursday morning that Hamas does not want a temporary ceasefire but a permanent ceasefire, and insisted a new prisoner exchange deal must include the release of three Palestinian prisoners, Marwan Barghouti, Abdullah Barghouti and Ahmad Sa'adat. On the other hand, the United States has thwarted several draft resolutions to impose an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, with its veto at the UN Security Council. (HS)
