Hamas: Israel Desribes Eliminating Palestinians
Hamas has charged Israel with aiming for total "wipe-out" of the Palestinian people from their territory. Senior Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya claimed Wednesday during an interview with Palestinian al-Aqsa TV. Israel targets everyone in Gaza, including hospitals, women, children, and the elderly, he declared. Israel aims to drive Palestinians out of Gaza and replace them, he said, so establishing a Jewish state all over Palestine.
Massive death has resulted from the October 2023 conflict in Gaza. Included among the over 44,000 Palestinians killed are many women and children. Israeli bombings have destroyed thousands of hospitals and residences as well as factories. Palestinian health experts estimate that the continuous strikes have caused over 20,000 injuries in addition to more than 15,000 dead.
Al-Hayya also attacked the US, charging it of hindering UN initiatives to end the war. According to him, Washington's actions exhibit "complicity in genocide" directed against Gaza's Palestinians. Blaming Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for ongoing airstrikes, he said he is a "major obstacle" to bring the war to a conclusion.
Targeting other regions of the region, Hamas has also cautioned that Israel might carry the fight outside of Gaza. Al-Hayya underlined, nevertheless, that Israel's intentions to eradicate Palestinian identity and seize their territory will not be successful. He urged the whole community to act and halt the war before it expanded much farther.
