Haniyeh's reaction to the opposition to the Zionist regime's ground attack
Ismail Haniyeh, head of Hamas's political office, responded to the victorious standoff of the Al-Qassam brigades and the defeat of the Zionist regime's ground attack north of the Gaza Strip by saying: "This defeat is a divine miracle."
According to ArabNews, Haniyeh wrote on his official page on social network X on Saturday morning: “The defeat of the Zionist regime’s ground attack north of the Gaza Strip, despite simultaneous air, ground and sea bombardments, is a divine miracle.” The Martyr Ezzeddine al-Qassam Battalions, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (HAMAS), announced Friday evening that they would counter the Zionist regime's ground attack on the northern Gaza Strip. On Friday evening, Zionist regime forces tried to penetrate the eastern borders of the Gaza Strip under the cover of heavy and unprecedented airstrikes, but they failed.
The Al-Qassam Brigades' opposition to the Zionist regime's ground attack comes at a time when the UN General Assembly has approved a draft resolution proposed by Arab countries calling for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire and cessation of hostilities in the Gaza Strip. In response to the crimes committed by the Zionists, Palestinian resistance forces launched Operation Al-Aqsa Storm from the Gaza Strip against Zionist regime positions in the occupied territories on Saturday, October 7, 2023. From the very beginning of the operation, the Zionist army, unable to fight the resistance fighters, bombed residential areas, hospitals, religious centers and schools in the Gaza Strip, which is a clear crime. As a result of the Zionist regime's brutal attacks on the Gaza Strip, more than 7,800 Palestinian civilians were killed in Gaza and more than 20,000 were injured.
