Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said that Donald Trump's bid to return to the presidency should be taken seriously and warned that the former US president will try to pull Washington out of NATO. ABC News on Sunday wrote that Clinton, in a speech at the Munich Security Conference, told delegations attending the conference: We have to take Trump seriously. Trump will do anything to become an absolute authoritarian leader if given a chance. Clinton added: Even if Congress passes a resolution that says Trump cannot withdraw from NATO without the support of Congress, he will withdraw us from NATO. Trump, who is again a candidate for the US presidential elections, announced at a campaign rally in South Carolina that he would encourage Russia to attack its European allies if they do not provide funding for this military alliance. Biden called Trump's words stupid and shameful, and many members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization also criticized the former president of the United States. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg warned not to question the collective defense of this military pact and added: Any suggestion that allies will not defend each other undermines all of our security, including America's. EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell called Trump's comments "nonsense" and said the military alliance is not a menu that works depending on the US president's mood. He added: I'm not going to waste my time commenting on any of the stupid ideas that were floated during this US election campaign.
