The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, this morning (Wednesday), on Natural Resources Week and Arbor Day, planted three tree seedlings.

After planting the saplings, Imam Khamenei described tree planting as a beneficial, forward-looking and wealth-generating step. He also emphasized the importance of paying serious attention to the National Tree Planting Movement launched last year during the government of the late Martyr President Ebrahim Raisi. He said that all people should participate in tree planting as a good and noble act, so that by increasing trees, the living environment will be beautiful and the air will be clean.

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution has described his annual tree planting as a reminder that tree planting is not just for the youth, but is a responsibility for people of all ages. He stressed that everyone should have the enthusiasm and motivation to participate in this important, great and beautiful work.

Ayatollah Khamenei noted that planting trees is a highly profitable investment in various ways and a way to generate wealth. He added that planting trees, whether for fruit or for wood, is highly profitable and has no disadvantages.

Imam Khamenei continued to identify trees and fields as sources of clean air and emphasized the importance of the environment, noting that trees and plants help not only improve the climate, but also bring beauty to the environment and spiritual comfort to humans, as trees and plants are attractive to the eyes and the soul.

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution has reiterated the importance of the National Tree Planting Movement initiated during the administration of the late President Shahidi Ebrahim Raisi, saying that the program, which began last year and is ongoing, shows that planting one billion trees within four years is possible. He stressed that government institutions should support citizens in this effort.

Ayatollah Khamenei also warned against indiscriminate deforestation and conversion of agricultural lands, saying that deforestation, except for specific technical and necessary reasons, is a harmful and dangerous act. He stressed the need to prevent the destruction of forests and the conversion of agricultural lands to other uses.

In addition, he referred to the good work done in Tehran and some other cities in environmental protection and tree planting, and encouraged the continuation of these efforts.
