The information was reported by the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office of RA.

Compared to 2022, the cases have increased by 22 or 69 percent. During 2022, 32 cases of death of servicemen were registered.

Most of the 54 cases recorded last year, 19, were murders by the enemy (14 in 2022), and in 17 cases, the violation of the rules for handling dangerous ammunition and other materials caused death.

7 cases refer to suicide, and in 5 cases, to cause suicide by carelessness, and in 2 cases, to cause suicide. 3 servicemen were murdered, 2 were killed in a car accident, 1 serviceman each died as a result of lightning and electric shock, 4 servicemen died of illness.

The General Prosecutor's Office clarifies that the fire that took place in the Azat village of Gegharkunik, as a result of which 15 soldiers died, became a significant factor for the increase in the number of deaths last year.
