In a letter he wrote to the leader of the Catholic Church in the world, Pope Francis Erdogan, he said: "Humanity must prevent further violations of international law in Gaza", stressing that innocent people and civil infrastructure should never be targeted, even during war.
While insisting that killing is prohibited in all beliefs derived from Prophet Ibrahim AS, the President of Turkey said humanity "must raise its voice against the deliberate bombing of hospitals, schools, mosques and churches which should not be violated, even during war".
Erdogan has continued to explain in his letter that bringing lasting peace and stability in the Middle East is impossible without a fair settlement of the Palestinian and Israeli issue.
