International Criminal Court Chief Criticizes US

The head of the International Criminal Court (ICC) has criticised the US for interfering in the institution's investigation and called attacks on the court "appalling". According to the Sahab Network, in her speech at the annual meeting of the organization, which began on Monday, Judge Tomoko Akane said: "Another permanent member of the UN Security Council (the United States) is threatening this court with economic sanctions as if it were a terrorist organization." She cited statements by US Senator Lindsey Graham, who called the International Criminal Court a "dangerous joke" and asked the US Congress to impose sanctions on its prosecutors. Earlier, Graham told Fox News: "I told the allies of the United States, Canada, England, Germany and France, that if they help the International Criminal Court, the United States will also impose sanctions on them." The International Criminal Court recently condemned the Zionist regime for committing war crimes in the Gaza Strip and issued arrest warrants for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and sacked War Minister Yoav Gallant. The ICC ruling was widely welcomed around the world, with many countries declaring that they would comply with the ruling and arrest Netanyahu and Gallant if they entered their countries.
