Islamic Jihad statement: European sanctions against Hamas support Zionist genocide
In a statement, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement declared European Union sanctions a political cover for the crimes of the Zionist regime and support for genocide against the Palestinian people.
In a statement released Friday, the European Union imposed new sanctions against a group of individuals associated with the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (HAMAS) and Palestine Islamic Jihad, including Sudanese financier Abdulbasit Hamza Al-Hasanp Muhammadp Khaira, and Nabil Chouman, son Khaled Chouman, a senior Hamas financier, as well as Moussa Doudin, a senior Hamas member, and Ayman Ahmed Elduweik, an Algerian financier. According to the new EU sanctions, the assets of sanctioned individuals will be blocked and they will be prohibited from traveling to the European Union, and therefore the new sanctions will apply until January 19, 2025, and during this period it is possible to add, remove or change them. The Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement stressed in a statement on Saturday: "We strongly condemn Europe's decision to impose sanctions on the Islamic Jihad and Hamas movements and add the names of six individuals to the sanctions list." Islamic Jihad stressed that this decision is not surprising and has no value, but is a clear bias towards the Zionist occupation regime. This statement states that the European Union's decision provides political cover for the occupying "Zionist" regime through which it covers up the genocide committed against the Palestinian nation; Moreover, this action provides cover as well as military and intelligence support for the invasion of the Gaza Strip and ignores all demands of its people to immediately stop the invasion.
