Hebrew media have reported that the Israeli army will not withdraw from southern Lebanon when the 60-day deadline expires on Sunday according to the ceasefire agreement reached between Israel and the Lebanese Islamic Resistance Movement Hezbollah.

According to the sources, the Israeli army has officially announced that it will not withdraw from southern Lebanon when the 60-day ceasefire expires. The office of the prime minister of the regime has also announced that the operation to withdraw the Israeli army from southern Lebanon will take more than 60 days.

Tomorrow, Sunday, is the last day that the illegal Israeli regime's army should have fully withdrawn from Lebanese soil under the 60-day ceasefire agreement reached on November 27 between the regime and Hezbollah. But earlier yesterday, the Zionist regime's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the Zionist troops will not fully withdraw within the set deadline, accusing the Lebanese government of allegedly failing to fulfill its promises.

Meanwhile, the US government, which is one of the parties to the ceasefire agreement, has claimed that there is an "urgent need for a short-term extension" of the agreement.

US National Security Council spokesman Brian Hughes said President Donald Trump is committed to ensuring that Israeli citizens can safely return to their homes in the north and also supports Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and the country's new government.

This comes as the Lebanese National News Agency announced yesterday, Friday, that the Israeli army entered the southern towns of Aitaroun and Qantara and destroyed civilian property and the mosque in the area.../
