UN Human Rights Commissioner: Israel must be held accountable for attacking the city of Jenin

The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights has expressed concern about Israeli military operations in the West Bank, including the city of Jenin.

The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, speaking about the recent incursions by Israeli forces in various areas of the West Bank in Palestine, including the city of Jenin, said that those responsible for these actions must be held accountable.

Volker Türk has called Israel's statements about the expansion of settlements worrying and added that Israel's actions in the West Bank could affect the ceasefire in Gaza.

As the crimes committed by the Israeli army in the Jenin camp continue, the usurping regime's Minister of Defense, Israel Katz, has insisted that the so-called "Iron Wall" operation will continue in the West Bank.

Since Tuesday morning, just after the ceasefire in Gaza began, Israeli occupation forces have been carrying out heavy attacks in various areas of the West Bank, especially Jenin, in the north of the area, killing 12 Palestinians and injuring more than 100. The atrocities are still ongoing.

Israeli military attacks on the city of Jenin have damaged the infrastructure of the city's government hospital, and Palestinian news sources have reported that Palestinian fighters and youth are facing Israeli military attacks in the city of Jenin.
